To Create

After much thought, I said that my perfect day in 5 words was…create, family, fun, laugh, dream!

To Create…what does it actually mean… (by www.freedictionary.com)

1. To cause to exist; bring into being.
2. To give rise to; produce.
3. To produce through artistic or imaginative effort.
4. To invest with an office or title.

I think as artists and makers we probably think we have this one totally sorted. After all to be an artist is to create ‘things’ is it not – to bring into being, to give rise to and to produce? Its our biggest strength, to be able to translate the imagery in our brains into a actual tangible outcome for others to share.

However, as an art ‘business’ our desire to create can be our biggest weakness. If we spend ALL of our time simply creating and NONE of our time trying to connect with clients or selling our work, then we simply won’t make any money and so we don’t have a ‘business’ – we have a hobby instead!

So lets change that – create a business as well as your art – lets bring clients, money and abundance into being as well!!!
