Session 1: Initial call to cover everything + Review of all web channels

Session 2: Your work – developing collection – Pricing

COLLECTION & DESIGN DEVELOPMENT (Your Actual Pieces & Selling What You Have)

  • Ok so this coaching is about selling online – but if you dont showcase AND shout about your beautiful product then you have nothing to sell and so you cant make money so you have no clients and no business!!
  • Lets get ALL those pieces you have been procrastinating about photographing ONLINE and listed – whats holding you back, lets get started and work through the blocks?
  • Need help with the actual direction you want to take with your work? – I’ve been a lecturer for 20 years working with students and their design development. Lets work out ways to find your own ‘design hand-writing’ as I call in in your work and of course then lets find out which pieces are going to be the better sellers. No point making brooches if all your clients are buying rings!!
  • SELL WHAT YOU HAVE – got stock? Then lets put a strategy together to work out how to sell that! All to often we ‘feel’ like we have to constantly produce ‘new’ work but if we have no money then we can’t push forward so lets sell what we have first!

 

Session 3: Web presence

GET YOUR CONTENT ON YOUR WEBSITE FIRST (& Telling Your Story)!!!!

  • One of my BIGGEST mantras is ‘get your content on your website FIRST before you share it on social media’.
  • Its probably been one of the biggest ‘aha moments’ I’ve had over the past 5 years and the biggest mistake I see many artists and makers make!
  • First we have to find ways to tell YOUR STORY – through images, words and your branding.
  • Then I’m going to show you how to make that your websites BIGGEST asset and how to leverage it – aka how to actually USE your website rather than just have it sitting there looking pretty!
  • Learn how to blog, how to talk about what you do, how to promote your website content on social media, how to analyse how your website is doing, track your statistics, find out what your viewers do on your website and how to get people ONTO your website AND keep them there rather than sending them away from it!
  • Oh and of course, how to get the people on your website to actually BUY from you!

 

Session 4: Finding clients

FINDING CLIENTS (& Turning Them Into GOLD-DUST)!

  • Along the way I have probably met just about EVERY type of client you can think off – the good, the bad and the ugly – my own business has been successful because I have long-term clients who support me again and again!
  • But who are they, what are they and how are you going to find them?
  • More importantly how are you going to get these people to actually BUY something from you AND come back for more?
  • I can help you find your DREAM CLIENT and work out how to turn them into paying customers – your GOLD-DUST clients as I call them!
  • Lets work out a strategy of how to identify them, build a list, talk to them AND get them to buy your lovely work!!!

 

Session 5: Digital Marketing or Custom work

  1. DIGITAL MARKETING (Blog, Graphics, Statistics & Authentic Content)
  • What do I mean by this – well in part No 2 is part of this – I’m a total geek at many things but in particular I’m talking about learning how to blog, create graphics, build ‘authentic’ artistic content and attracting clients to your site.
  • Blogging – need help with the ins and outs of blogging? I’m not talking just about the words – I’m talking about writing, editing, SEO, creating imagery, putting it on your site, sending it to social media and tracking its success.
  • Graphics – I taught Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/In-design for years at college but these days I’ve switched to Canva as its free and sooooooo much faster. So need help with your ‘brand’ look? Creating your own graphics and imagery should NOT be a hurdle or painful task – after-all images speak 1000 words!
  • ‘Authentic’ Content – ok I’m gonna confess that I have a total aversion to using STOCK imagery on our sites. WHY? I believe that as artists / makers / designers / creatives we have ALL the imagery we need within both our own lives and our work. I’ll help you collect this, find it and USE it to tell your own ‘authentic’ story. (Of course there are times when we might need someone else image to tell a particular story!!)
  • Attracting Clients To Your Sites – I guess you could call this self-promotion. How to create the circle of having people visit your site EVERY day, different ways to do this and how to track whats been successful or not and how to act upon the results.
  • And of course – how to start from ZERO!! I’ve done it 3 times now!!! We all have to start somewhere right? Even though I’d been in business for 20 years my first ‘selling’ website didnt work and I had to start again. So lets get over the fear of the great big 0 and work out ways to watch ourselves grow!
  • CUSTOM BUSINESS (And How To ‘Do’ Custom Online)
  • I didnt start out to be a mainly custom order business – in fact in the early days I actually fought this as I wanted to be an exhibition jeweller who also made collections.
  • BUT this has been the main income for my business probably for around 15 years.
  • I’m not talking about taking a collection piece and putting a different stone in it (I call that made-to-order) I’m talking about clients who want something totally unique to them. They have their own ideas where you have to work with them one-to-one over a period of time and work out how to get their ideas from their head into a piece of jewellery!
  • Yes I also make collections and work wholesale BUT making to someones EXACT requirements is a whole different animal as I like to call it.
  • I’ve been told by some of my clients that coming to me is like have a therapy session for their design style, lol!
  • AND how can you do all that online?

Session 6: Review

So it’s 6 session – 2 sessions/month + the web review = $2000
