Share Your Story
Share Your Story?
Artists/Designers/Makers – Don’t forget to SHARE your story on your website and then on social media – listing your art and products for sale is NOT enough. You need to communicate with your audience and followers so that they feel connected to you.
Have you celebrated a win recently, have you had a good day (or a bad one), have you bought a new piece of equipment, are you excited about a new idea you are working on, did you see something funny, did something you looked at catch your eye?
These are all ‘things’ that help us to share our creative stories and provide content for your websites and social media. You could think of it like the ‘filler chapters’ – parts of your process that people don’t normally see but help lead up to that beautiful final piece.
Get into the habit of recording what you’re doing on a daily basis – your phone will do. Then try selecting a few images to post and write a few sentences about.
Remember to try to put these on your website FIRST (like in a blog or photo gallery) BEFORE you put them on social media – this is a cardinal rule I’m going to talk more about but basically you NEED fresh content on your website so that it is current, up-to-date and interesting for visitors to keep returning to so that they can see what ‘you’re at’!!
So go on, share your story!
